Lionshare began in the celebrity space, working with some of the world's leading athletes and entertainers in expanding their brands via full-service content production, local events management, and social account strategy in emerging markets. A natural progression for our clients was to develop their own brands and they came to us asking for help launching in China. 

As we looked to bolster our capabilities in the burgeoning social commerce space a few alarming trends became apparent. We couldn’t find a partner we could trust. Claims of China being as easy as merely setting up a T-mall site, paying the setup and service fees, and the sales would start rolling in, were commonplace. 

The reality is that China is an extremely difficult market for foreign brands and without a sophisticated strategy even global brands have crashed, burned, and shuttered their operations.
